Papagou
Papagou (Greek: Παπάγου or Παπάγος Papagos) is a suburb and municipal unit in the eastern part of the Athens agglomeration, Greece. The town is named after Marshal Alexandros Papagos, a general who led the Greek Army in the Second World War and the Greek Civil War, before becoming Prime Minister of Greece. The Greek Ministry of National Defense is located in town. Papagou was part of the municipality of Cholargos until 1965, when it became a separate community. It became a municipality in 1982. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Papagou-Cholargos, of which it is a municipal unit according to the Kallikratis Plan.

Papagou is a suburb in the northeastern part of Athens, Greece. The city is named after Marshal Alexandros Papagos, a Greek Army General who served in the Second World War. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Papagou-Cholargos, of which it is a municipal unit. Papagou is located W of Attiki Odos, which is also known as the Hymettus Ring opened in 2004 with interchanges to the northeast and the southeast at Katechaki Avenue, W of Rafina, NW of Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport, NE of Athens and Vouliagmenis Avenue and S of Kifissia and its northern suburbs. Papagou is accessed with the main roads of Katechaki Avenue, with another main road linking to Olaf Palme Street in the south in Zografou, and Mesogeion Avenue in Neo Psychiko to the west. The local flag color is white with a blue cross that is a little extended with a red line. The golden-bronze, bird-like and statue-like creature appears in its middle and a seal in the top left.
