In the long run we either need proper protections in the United States, or we will end up with separate products for the United States and the European Union regulation, i would personally prefer better protections in the United States, but this is up to the United States legislator - not to anyone in Europe.

When it comes to sanctions, the purpose of those sanctions is to deter Russian aggression, so if they're triggered now, you lose the deterrent effect.
