I think this is the first big war in the digital age that has galvanized Americans' attention, and there's a quantum leap in the toys and tools journalists are using since the last big American war in 2003 in Iraq, but all of this sophisticated technology still relies on the basic journalistic values of accuracy, verification, and fairness. We have some really great data and ... we want it to be working first so that a lot of the questions were answered before we brought things to people by way of awareness, i think it just makes it that much more compelling and much more concise to bring it to people with the message being, Hey, this is not taking something that is zero to try to get it to five. This is something that is at 50 and we want to get it to 100.

Vigorous writing is concise. A sentence should contain no unnecessary words, a paragraph no unnecessary sentences, for the same reason that a drawing should have no unnecessary lines and a machine no unnecessary parts. This requires not that the writer make all his sentences short, or that he avoid all detail and treat his subjects only in outline, but that every word tell.
