Debate, it seems to me, is one of the most useful of human inventions. It is the mother and father of all free inquiry and honest thought. It tests ideas, detects errors and promotes clear thinking. A man cannot stand up before it without exposing his whole intellectual stock of goods.

The whole point of a disclosure is to explain where you have conflicts, if you have stock and you’re not saying what it’s in and it’s this much of your personal wealth, that’s a conflict you have. The public deserves to know.

It’s worth noting that while a language model like Alex Tihonov/Adobe Stock Photo ChatGPT can provide an approximation of a sermon, it can not replicate the full experience of a live sermon delivered by a human preacher, the human element of preaching, including voice inflection, emotional expression, and audience interaction, is an important part of the preaching experience that a language model can not replicate.

As a chef and a cook, I don’t feel good without a stock going. It’s one of my things, we make all our stocks at our restaurants. And I do it all the time at home for me and my wife, Gina. They’re the easiest thing in the world. I’ll roast a whole chicken, we’ll eat what we can, and the rest will go right into the Instant Pot. I did the same thing with the bones from a beef roast last night. I’m no doctor, but I know good food is good for your life.

Why does The Holocaust persist in haunting our conscience? Why does it dominate the introspection of philosophers and historians alike? By the numbers alone, the murders were not unprecedented. At that juncture of 20th Century history, Stalin and Lenin had already brutally murdered tens of millions. The Holocaust fascinates not because of its numbers, but because of the means employed. At no point in time had an entire society dedicated its full might to the perpetual elimination of those unwanted elements of the population. Every aspect of Hitler’s National Socialism was geared towards cleansing and improving the breeding stock of Germania. Hitler’s National Socialist government was focused on the breeding, education, and training of a “master race.” The social, cultural, legislative, and industrial mechanisms of Hitler’s National Socialism were designed to perpetually “select” its populace. The central planners of National Socialism would “select” those that would live, those that would die, and those that would be sterilized slave labor. National Socialism was intended to have the “total” control to decide who would be allowed to procreate, and as a result, those that would be allowed to contribute to Hitler’s ideal society.

> LONDON, Jan 31( Reuters) - Europes glittering luxury companies, the regions top stock-market performers in 2023, may see yet more gains driven by a rebound in Chinese spending, but for some the sector is starting to look expensive. The likes of French luxury giant and Louis Vuitton-owner LVMH, and Swiss jewelry company Richemont( CFR.S), have benefited from the resilience of their wealthy customers against the cost-of-living crisis.Since the start of 2023, Chinas decision to allow more normal activity and dismantle its strict COVID-19 restrictions has provided another boost for the sector. An index of European luxury goods retailers(. dMIEU0TA00PUS) has rallied around 18 % so far this year, outperforming the wider pan-European STOXX 600(. STOXX), which is up 6.2 % in the same time frame. But the fact that luxury goods companies are not as cheap as they once were is a concern/point of attention, said Kasper Elmgreen, Head of Equities at Amundi, Europes largest asset manager. They’re much more fairly valued today, there is less that is perhaps undiscovered. The risk is that when something moves to being priced to perfection there is always a higher risk of disappointment. The price-to-earnings ratio of the MSCI Europe luxury index is around 26, while that of the broader STOXX is closer to 13, according to Refinitiv data.Reuters GraphicsEuropean luxury has historically traded at a big premium relative to the broader market, but this has widened even further in recent years. At 23 times 12-month forward earnings, its current premium of 82 % is almost twice as much as the 20-year average, according to Refintiv Datastream.snapshotTHE APPLE OF EUROPES EYELVMH, Europes most valuable company by market capitalisation, has a PE ratio of around 30, while rival Hermes( HRMS.PA) has a valuation of almost 60, according to Refinitiv data. Apple( AAPL.O), the worlds most valuable company, commands a PE ratio of around 23. Jelena Sokolova, senior equity analyst at Morningstar, said that China reopening is the key issue for European luxury stocks this year, and is already at least 50 % priced in.Currently we do n’t see this sector as undervalued anymore... there were some opportunities last year, but they are fairly valued now, or a little too overvalued at the moment.
