Really funny! You're using the word "kålrot" as the Swedish translation of "Swede". Kålrot is called turnip/Swedish turnip/rutabaga (rotabagge in a Swedish dialect) in English, and it is only used in regards to the vegetable. I know that Swedish turnips sometimes are shortened to "Swedes", especially in UK, but I have so far not heard it in California where I live.
The Swedish word for Swede - the human version - is "svensk". 1 svensk, 10 svenskar.
    Thanks for interesting Reading, Definitions.net!
