Wikipedia
Sanaz
Sanaz (Persian: ساناز correct transliteration: sānāz) is a Persian female name meaning "full of grace", "Persian Princess" or "with pride". Alternative spellings include Sannaz. It is originally the name of a flower. The word "nāz" in the Iranian vocabulary signifies glory, elegance, youthfulness, pride. Sanaz is also a common Turkish female name, compounded of two words: san and az. In Turkish and the Turkmen, Sanaz is composed of San and az, meaning "likeness" and "few" respectively, totally giving refers 'unique'. It is used in other Turkic-speaking countries in Central Asia. The original Persian name has no link with the Turkish variant, and they seem to have arisen independently of each other, rather than being a borrowing into the Turkish language. The usage of this name as a first name is more common than as a middle name, especially among Americans, the Turks and the Persians.
