red sun
A red sun refers to the phenomenon when the sun appears red due to atmospheric conditions. This usually happens at sunrise or sunset when the sun is low in the sky, and its light has to pass through more of Earth's atmosphere. The scattering of shorter blue and green wavelengths of light results in the longer red wavelengths being more visible. It can also occur due to smoke or dust particles in the air caused by events like bushfires or dust storms.
