madeira river
The Madeira River is a major waterway in South America, approximately 3,250 kilometers long. It is the biggest tributary of the Amazon River and also considered the world's most powerful tributary. The river originates from Bolivia, flowing northward into Brazil, and drains into the Amazon River. It gets its name from the Portuguese word for 'wood', due to the large amounts of drifting wood in it. It also serves as a significant transportation system for the surrounding towns and villages, transporting commercial goods like Brazil nuts and rubber.
