Other names in common use include geranylgeranyl-diphosphate synthase, geranylgeranyl pyrophosphate synthetase, geranylgeranyl-PP synthetase, farnesyltransferase, and geranylgeranyl pyrophosphate synthase. This enzyme participates in biosynthesis of steroids and terpenoid biosynthesis. This protein may use the morpheein model of allosteric regulation.
