Draper along with nearby Monterey had significantly high crime rates well throughout the 90s and early 2000's due to teenangers and young adults getting into the prolification of hard narcotics perpetrated by local drug gangs in the area. Although the overall crime rate in Draper has seen a dramatic decrease in recent years, a heavy police present can still be seen along with the reminance of gang activity. Dealers from Draper are known to deal with members of Double R Bloods also known as West Side Bloods.
