    Smynnium, Lat. The name of a plant.

    The flowers are produced in umbels, consisting of several leaves, which are placed orbicularly, and expand in form of a rose; these rest upon the empalement, which afterward becomes an almost globular fruit, composed of two pretty thick seeds, sometimes shaded like a crescent, gibbous, and streaked on one side, and plain on the other. The species are;
