The Kamboj (Punjabi: ਕੰਬੋਜ Kamboj, Hindi: कंबोज Kamboj), also Kamboh (Urdu: کمبوہ ALA-LC: Kamboh), is a caste and cultivating community of the larger Punjab region of Pakistan and India, spanning a region from the Sutlej Valley to the north, the Multan in the west and the Karnal area of Yamuna valley in the east. By religion, the Hindu, the Sikh are mostly found in the east, that is the Punjab and Haryana states in India, while most of the Muslim Kamboj are found in the west in the province of Punjab in Pakistan.

The Kambojs, also Kamboh, are an ethnic community of the Punjab region. They may relate to the Kambojas, an Iranian tribe known to the people of Iron Age India and mentioned in ancient Sanskrit texts and epigraphy. Kamboj is frequently used as a surname in lieu of the sub-caste or the gotra name by many Kambojs of Punjab, India. Their Muslim counterparts living in Pakistan mostly use the last name Kamboh instead of the gotra name. A good many Muslim Kamboh are also found in the Doab region of Uttar Pradesh, especially in the town of Marehra, and call themselves Zuberis.

Kamboj Punjab kamboj exists as subcaste of the punjabi farming community but are not Jats. People in this community call them kambo or only kambo. Kambo or kamboj itself is much bigger than a small community as many people from different religions and different countries use it to describe their ethnic origin. They may use different variation or spelling of Kambo.
