  1. INSIDE

Inside is a puzzle-platform game developed and published by Playdead in 2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows. The game was released for iOS in December 2017 and Nintendo Switch in June 2018. A macOS version was released in June 2020. The player controls a boy in a dystopic world, solving environmental puzzles and avoiding death. It is the successor to Playdead's 2010 Limbo, with similar 2.5D gameplay. Playdead began work on Inside shortly after the release of Limbo, using Limbo's custom game engine. The team switched to Unity to simplify development, adding their own rendering routines, later released as open source, to create a signature look. The game was partially funded by a grant from the Danish Film Institute. Inside premiered at Microsoft's E3 2014 conference, with a planned release in 2015, but was delayed to 2016. Inside was released to critical acclaim. Critics noted it as an improvement over Limbo, praising its art direction, atmosphere and gameplay. The game was nominated for numerous accolades, including game of the year, and won several independent and technical achievements. As with Limbo, Inside is included on multiple lists of the greatest video games of all time as compiled by game journalists.

Examples of INSIDE in a Sentence

  1. Barack Obama:

But here's one thing that we can feel, we know, if our rhetoric about each other gets that mean. When we don't just disagree with people, but we start demonizing them, making wild, crazy allegations about them. That creates a dangerous climate. And if elected officials don't do more to explicitly reject that kind of rhetoric, if they tacitly support it or encourage their supporters to stand up inside voting places armed with guns and dressed in tactical gear, more people can get hurt, and we're going to be violating the basic spirit of this country.

  2. Haskell Wexler:

You can ... figure you're an old guy and you (already) did your thing, then something inside me gets reminded that my 'thing' is what makes me alive -- to be able to have a camera and an idea and an urge that gives me pleasure.

  3. Coral Briseño:

My heart broke when I heart that, my kid was a hero. He cared about others. That’s something that comes from inside. I taught him that, but it was because of him that more kids are alive and have a future.

  4. Steve Lodge:

They're doing something similar to this down in Dallas County, Texas, retrofitting the inside of a jail, it almost looks like a hospital, but it's secure. It's a lockdown. You cannot allow these folks to just walk away from their treatment or walk away from their rehabilitation. That doesn't make any sense. It's not the compassionate thing to do for them.

  5. Paul Roos:

We ducked behind a counter but I stood up and watched him. Two explosions went off shortly after one another. By that time he had stopped shooting, he turned around and started coming towards us. He was holding his gun inside his jacket. He looked around anxiously to see if anyone was going to stop him and then went down the escalator ... We heard some more gunfire and then another explosion, and then it was over.
