Corinthian can have several meanings depending on the context: 1. In architecture, Corinthian refers to one of the three main styles (orders) of classical Greek architecture, the other two being the Doric and Ionic. The Corinthian order is characterized by slender fluted columns and elaborate capitals decorated with acanthus leaves and scrolls. 2. In geographical terms, Corinthian may refer to something or someone from or related to the city of Corinth in Greece. 3. In historical terms, Corinthian was a term used in the 18th and 19th centuries to describe a wealthy, amateur sportsman—a reference to the ancient Greek ideal of the athlete, who was simultaneously a warrior, artist, and public servant. 4. Corinthian is also a typeface, a variant of the Baskerville design, developed by Robert Besley in 1840. 5. In terms of religion, Corinthian may refer to the two biblical books in the New Testament (1 Corinthians and 2 Corinthians), the epistles of Paul to the Corinthians. 6. In boating, Corinthian refers to a category of sailing in which the crew are all amateurs. Remember that the meaning depends on the context.

Corinthian
The Corinthian is a fictional character in Neil Gaiman's comic book series The Sandman. He can first be seen in The Sandman #10, which is part of the second story arc, The Doll's House. The Corinthian is a nightmare created by Dream, who destroys him in the same collection for going rogue and failing to fulfill his original design. Dream later recreates him with "some changes", though the exact nature of these changes is not explicit. His most notable physical feature is his lack of eyes: in their place, two rows of small, jagged teeth line each eye socket, which he often covers with sunglasses. He can speak, eat and even respire through these mouths. The Corinthian is an impeccable dresser and will often wear only white clothing.
