Gaziantep
Gaziantep (Turkish pronunciation: [ɡaːˈziantep]), historically and still informally called Aintab or Antep (pronounced [anˈtep]), is a major city and capital of the Gaziantep Province, in the westernmost part of Turkey's Southeastern Anatolia Region and partially in the Mediterranean Region, approximately 185 km (115 mi) east of Adana and 97 km (60 mi) north of Aleppo, Syria. It is thought to be located on the site of ancient Antiochia ad Taurum, and is near ancient Zeugma. As of 2021 census, the Metropolitan Province was home to 2,130,432 inhabitants, of whom 1,775,904 lived in the metropolitan area made of two (out of three) urban districts of Şahinbey and Şehitkamil, as Oğuzeli is not conurbated. It is the sixth-most populous city in Turkey. In February 2023, the city and nearby areas were affected by a significant earthquake.

Gaziantep previously and still informally called Antep, is a city in southeast Turkey and among the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. The city is located 185 kilometres northeast of Adana and 97 kilometres north of Aleppo, Syria. The city has two urban districts under its administration, Şahinbey and Şehitkamil. It is the sixth most populous city in Turkey. As of 2011, the city of Gaziantep had a population of 1,376,352 and its metropolitan municipality 1,393,289. Today, Gaziantep has a mixed population of Turks and Kurds.
